Id like to share another story with you. Most people dont know that I was a police officer in the military for 20 years. When I was 18 years old living in Japan I pulled a lady over for doing 55mph in a 30mph zone. She began to curse me out and called me every name in the book. A week later at 3am in the morning I was called out to a domestic violence call. I was the first officer on the scene and low and behold a woman comes running out to me screaming for help. She had a broken nose, jaw and her faced was bleeding all over. I immediately recognized her as the woman who cursed me out. The same woman who made me feel like crap for just doing my job had her blood all over me. I stopped the bleeding from her nose as I waited for the medics to arrive. I thought how awkward this was but I knew I had a job to do. A month or so later I had to go to trial to testify on what happened. The lady testified but before she spoke on her ordeal she said that she would like to apologize to Private Williams and to thank me for helping her. I guess that was her way of asking for forgiveness but there was no need to, I was just doing my job.
