Id like to take a moment to highlight a very special athlete. Today is Lorinda Krystyniaks one year anniversary of her last chemotherapy session. When Lorinda first came to us her body was pretty beat up from the treatment. She was tiny, she was frail, and she couldnt lift even a bare womens bar over head. Lorinda had also lost most of her hair because of the treatment. The courage it took for her to come to class every day was immense, but she rocked that bandanna and came ready to WOD. See for those of you who dont know Re, she is a fighter. The word quit never enters her mind. Lorinda came consistently 3-5 times per week and has trusted in her coaches and busted her ass to get to where she is today. And the results? Just last week after 6 months of trying she got her first hand stand, and then did 3 more after that, not counting the one she did when she got home to show her husband John. She is consistently doing work outs with big girl plates on the bar. This week Lorinda PRed her strict press, 70# overhead! All while rocking a beautiful head of hair. The progress she has made is incredible. See, CrossFit isnt always about who is the fastest or the strongest. CrossFit is about athletes like Lorinda. Her drive, her perseverance, and her fighting spirit is an inspiration to all of us. Congratulations Lorinda on your one year anniversary. We are truly blessed to have you as a part of our community.
