Id like to tell you a little story about my show in Asheville last Saturday. I was supposed to fly to tri-cities airport via Charlotte but after delaying and delaying the flight, US Airways cancelled it. Now apparently theres some FAA policy that bags have to go to their final destination even if the flight is cancelled (what??!?) so *they would not give me my bag*. This had my DJ controller and stage clothes for me and Femke. So I rent a car (at ridiculous expense), start the two hour drive to Asheville, and speak to Edwin and Ryan of Gratifly Music and Arts Festival as well as KP, the three promoters of the show. Okay, they ask, what are you missing, what do you need? Well, I need white pants and a white shirt and Femke needs a white dress. And I need a Numark Mixtrak DJ Controller. By the time I arrive at the venue, *two hours* later, what is there for me? White pants and a white shirt, *with ceremonial Shipibo prints on them!*, two white dresses, and a Numark DJ controller (actually a nicer one than mine). All the clothes fit, and looked pretty good. So this is a belated big public acknowledgement of the awesomeness, humility, and effectiveness that is Edwin and Ryan. That was a serious moment of production sleight of hand and was deeply appreciated. The show must go on, and they made it happen.
