Id like to thank Katie Fox for nominating me to the ALS ice bucket challenge. However, I will not donate to the ALS Foundation. ALS is a horrible sickness and only 60-70% of donation dollars to major foundations make it to their intended recipients. The rest help pay 6-figure incomes for CEOs and massive marketing efforts to become the next it philanthropic effort. Leading one to wonder if said CEOs ever want to find a solution since it would mean they no longer have a job? As such, I will be making my donation directly to Meghans Aunt Janet Griffiths Travers, a hospice nurse, so that 100% of my donation goes to a recipient in need. In turn, I nominate Mark DiDonato Sammi King and David J. Leonard to complete an ice bucket challenge and either donate directly or present a fact about the dangers of participating in these types of philanthropic efforts without thinking more deeply about them. Lets really kick ALS butt!
