Id like to thank all of you new people whove chosen to follow us. I really appreciate you all joining us on our journey. Since there are quite a few newbies here I thought a proper introduction was in order so here goes.. Im Renee and Im the proud mama to Nick. Hes an amazing, intelligent and very lovable 12-year-old young man with autism. Hes mostly non-verbal but is highly communicative and never stops trying to get words out. I am not a fan of functioning labels so the best way I can describe my boy is someone who does what he can and is who he is. He is a tenacious fellow who never stops surprising me with what he is capable of. I learned early on never to underestimate my son and wont associate with or tolerate anyone who does. One thing youll find out while following us is just how funny my kid is. He cracks us up on a regular basis and is a true smartass. Id like to say thats all his dads fault but he gets that from both sides so there are a lot of amusing moments around here. I started this page to share my son with others and do what I could to raise as much awareness as possible. Anyone who knows me is aware that I rarely, if ever, shut up about my boy and this page gives me an outlet to talk about him with more people than I personally know. To know him really is to love him, but I really am quite biased so hopefully anyone reading this will stick around long enough to find that out on their own. Thanks again for the interest in my boy. Anyone who likes him is a friend of mine. :)
