Id love to get my FB friends thoughts on this... whether you think there is actually a problem here (or not!) and if yes, how it might be rectified. Whilst I used to shrug it off, as the years go by I feel forced to conclude that the girls out of high school (even more than by age) do have an advantage. One way to fix might be to not have the age-18 overlap between Teen and Miss - but given this competition is called Miss Teen USA can you really cut out the 18 & 19 year olds? I think it comes down more to the attitude of MUO. If they signal to the judges that they dont care whether the winner is 15 or 19, a high school sophomore or a college sophomore, as long as they are the best girl on the night, then we cant quibble with that. The question is, have they been briefed in that way?
