Idea prepaid customers can now make unlimited calls without doing any recharge JAMMU, Sept 19: All Idea prepaid customers of Kashmir can now make unlimited local Idea calls for the next 15 days without doing any recharge. This scheme has been enabled today and will last till October 3, 2014. As one of the countrys largest mobile operators, Idea Cellular is committed to providing connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir and support people with basic mobile services, especially in the current conditions a spokesperson of Idea Cellular said. He said the natural calamity in the region has destroyed some of our cell sites and other network equipment, impacting coverage. Despite all the challenges, he said our teams have been working 24X7 to restore network in the affected areas and ensure continuity of services. He said Idea network is now operational in all DHQs where we were initially present in J&K. The network has been completely restored in Jammu region and parts of Anantnag, Bandipore, Baramula, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shupiyan and Srinagar, he added. He further said that Idea has auto-credited Rs 12 in the accounts of customers with low balance in Srinagar region, to ensure that such people are able to make emergency calls if stranded. To assist locals and tourists without a mobile connection, and enable them to connect with their friends and families, Idea has installed booths at various rescue and relief camps preloaded with talktime, he said, adding Idea is enabling easy acquisition of mobile connections in the region as per the recently introduced revised DoT guidelines.
