Identification tests for true yellow sapphire : The gem brought should be proved real even after performing certain identification tests. They include : • Test in milk : dip the Pukhraj gem in milk for about 24 hours and check for the colour . The colour remains the same glowing yellow indicating a real gem. • Test under sunlight : place the gem to be tested on a transparent piece of cloth and expose it to sun light .
