Not something in itself that disqualifies him from receiving an Australian knighthood. The fact that he is not an Australian, and, more importantly, that he received it on the recommendation of the Australian Prime Minister alone are enough for that. Nevertheless, the bizarre history of the European Royal Families and their fragile relationship with modern democracy are enough to make us wonder what a Princes privileged life gain through marriage to a British monarch has to do with 21st century Australia.
