Identity in Christ When I realize that I have truly been given everything I need for life and godliness (a God honoring life). When I realize that He’s really given me everything I need to live as He has called me to live, at street level every day. Then I’m not satisfied with occasional love, with a little bit of kindness, with spotty perseverance. When I realize the richness of my new identity in Christ, I will refuse to live as if I am poor. If you don’t get your identity then you again and again stop way short of the destination. Friends accept that they have taboo topics that they can’t talk about, and husbands and wives live with marital détente. Instead of dealing with things, we live around the great big elephants in the room. All of us in some way are absolutely satisfied with living short of the destination.
