If Assads fight in Syria is truly about destroying ISIS vs consolidating his own power, why have regime forces killed YPG fighters, who are only trying to protect their autonomous region from ISIS militants? Even YPG spokesman stated their fight with ISIS emboldens the regime, so why are they being targeted and killed? Oh right, bc its about weakening Kurds and ISIS, which translates to sustaining regional hegemony no matter what. Yeah thats cool I guess, but when youre denying self determination to a historically marginalized population, and your government functions neoliberally AF, guess what? I dont call that a victory for the people.
