If Hilary runs, I will be beating the democratic drum up to and including the polls. But I wont like it. I use to like Hillary a great deal, until she became so hawkish. I do not want a war. I want a green party so much that I frequently think about it. Im finding that my mind, my heart and soul are captured there, and if I am truly honest..my fear. but it doesnt lull me into the idealistic/unrealistic. I believe that ship has sailed in this nation and on this planet. I am really getting tired of this business as usual in our governance. The reason that I support President Obama is not because of the party. It is because of the man. You see, I believe that he has excelled in this administration in terms of his accomplishments within a profoundly broken system. We are at the tipping point on the environment. Im not sure that we can turn all the environmental threats around if we suddenly used alternate energy sources, stop massive consumerism and implore collective conscientiousness about the footprints that we set on the planet. Some, in the far left, still hold expectations that he would come in and completely ignore his Presidential accountability to us the American stake holders, in finance, business, healthcare, public policy federal and international Commander and Chief/Military and all of the other pulls inherent in the job. I am a very practical person; logic goes a long way with me. There is just no way that my expectations were set so high that they were tethered to illusion. What I appreciate is that President Obamas decisions are made with a lot more information than what any of us have. Every President does. He sets the course from a real analysis of the entire scope of governance and sets out to do the greater good. Republicans are mimicking the yes we can spirit that he brought to us and there are some democrats doing it too. What they dont know is that it is no longer yes we can. It is yes we must.
