If I hit delete is the file gone forever? Computer forensics - TopicsExpress

If I hit delete is the file gone forever? Computer forensics shows us the most basic and undeniable truth: * When creating a file 3 things happen. 1- An entry is made into the File Allocation Table 2- A directory is made to indicate the document as a filename 3- The file is saved to a cluster on the hard drive * When deleting a file only 2 things happen 1-FAT entry is Zeroed out ( sand computer is told the space is vacant for future files 2- The 1st character of the directory filename is changed to a special character so the operating system knows to ignore it. Liar catchers fans please remember, the larger the hard drive, the LESS likely files are truly ever deleted.
