If I learned anything this week its that people can be very judgmental. Some of the things I heard come out of mouths that should know better are still bouncing around in my head because they dont quite know where to land. Anyone who knows me at all, knows I shoot straight from the hip. However, theres a fine line between calling someone out on their bull and just being a jerk. People generally know where they stand with me. If I like you, it will be obvious. If I dont, it will be too. If Im mad at you, youll not only know Im mad, but youll also know why (if youre listening). People who silently judge without knowing someones story, then quietly work against their victim are no better than the person being judged. In fact, in many ways theyre worse. Some people need to get a grip and take a long look in the mirror. If its ok for someone to act a particular way but not ok for someone else to do the same things, then youre unfairly judging one. If you discount people just because of what you think you know about a person or situation, youll lose out on some of the greatest adventures and friendships. But if you cant resist the urge to label people then you owe it to those people to have a genuine conversation with them about where they stand and why. Were all on this spinning dizzy planet together. Lets try to play nice, shall we? The end.
