If I may be so bold, I would like to ask a few questions. On - TopicsExpress

If I may be so bold, I would like to ask a few questions. On Thursday, after years of waiting, I am finally going to Poland. It’s a short trip-four days in Warsaw-but I wondered if anyone could recommend a good office supply store, and a couple of places to eat. I’m looking for envelopes with Polish words on them, for rubber stamps reading “Urgent!” and for nice pieces of cake and meat. A few weeks back I started a “Learn Polish!” audio program. I can now greet a shop clerk, and ask her to please repeat her question. I can say “Tomorrow evening I would like to have something to drink, maybe coffee, at 7:00. Then I can change the time to 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00. I haven’t learned 11 or 12 yet. One of my most polished phrases is “I would like to buy something.” I have no idea what it looks like on paper but phonetically it’s “F’chow bim zosht coo-peach.” After I’ve said it a dozen or so times and gained a little confidence I’ll probably super-size it with a “now,” or “today.” Are stores in Poland closed on Sunday? If so, I might like to leave Warsaw and see what the country side looks like. Can anyone recommend a village an hour or so away? Hugh and I could maybe rent a car. I am so looking forward to this.
