If I remember correctly the Mayor, Roads Inc and others involved were also calling the 30 acre development on Innnerarity Rd a Planned Assisted Living Facility, when they got the BCC to increase the zoning of the property. This was around 2005 or so. Only Commissioner Marie Young (and some of us people that lived out here) questioned the zoning change and assisted living facility in a high coastal hazard area. After the zoning change the assisted living facility magically changed to a 244-unit condominium development, but it failed. Guessing that much of the property being wetlands/swamp did not help. Perhaps the new upside abstract sidewalks will now attract developers. Will help if they get help from Tallahassee to permit filling in the wetlands, plus dredge the shallow waters of Bayou Garcon for large boats.
