If I were held hostage, and a relative paid $200 million for my ransom, I could never pay him back. I could live in poverty, giving every extra penny I earned to him, and never get close. But he didnt ransom me so that I could live in poverty, did he? Dont try to pay Jesus back. You cant, and to try is an insult to the cross. Jesus didnt redeem you so that you would be indebted to God. He redeemed you so that you would be reconciled to Him. For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people.
