If Lord krishna and Music were to be expressed in a single term , the best term would perhaps be KRISHNA DHWANI ...his FLUTE . There are enough references in mythology about how the pleasant tunes charmed many ,brought peace in their lives . As Janmasthami /Gokulasthami approaches , each state of India celebrates the festival in its own style .... Prayers when musical are offered in form of Bhajans , Thumris , ,Carnatic classical style , Hindustani classical style , folk music of almost every state , The ISKON followers have their signature dholak and cymbals singing in their own enchantment . There have been so many composers who have sung in the praise of Krishna , we have lots to explore and share . Have been fascinated with the Idakka in the Guruvayoorapan temple while we wait for the temple doors to reopen , with a glimpse of the fully decorated idol . ( The idakka (Malayalam: ഇടയ്ക്ക), also spelt edaykka, is an hourglass-shaped drum from Kerala in south India. This handy percussion instrument is very similar to the pan-Indian damaru. While the damaru is played by rattling knotted cords against the resonators, the idakka is played with a stick.)....net As we celebrate the festival , we shall also celebrate the music associated with the worship ....versatile styles from each state as much as possible . Everyone is welcome to join in, post your favourites and help each other learn ......( All forms of music need , folk included . Music can always bring about the spirit of Vasudeiva Kutumbakam Beginning with a Flute recital by the maestro Pandit chaurasia . youtu.be/5dwvpqXPzJ4
