If Nigeria will be better by 2020, we must not keep silent, lets use the google+, Facebook, Twitter, and every other social media to keep speaking the truth until our government brings the long desired change, if possible revolution will be used as an alternative tools after exploring all available options. Israel Joe is ready and we are ready to take over the state through Pen militancy and social advocacy. Check the intentional based research by a scholar. Dapo Thomas Vista of The Mathematics of Oil Theft OIL THEFT! The government of National Transformation recently came out with a shocker that the nation loses 400,000 bpd [barrel per day] of crude oil to oil thieves, small and big, the hungry vandals that ruptures oil pipelines and the brazen elites that nurture the pipelines with sophisticated tools. Talk of small swampy rogues, and big crooks in government! Official figures released by International Energy Agency shows that the shocking discovery was that the 400,000 bpd that Nigeria loses to oil thieves are what about 16 nations produce officially among themselves. Take a look at this figures! 1. JAPAN - 132,700 bpd 2. Netherland - 57,190 bpd 3. Turkey - 52,980 bpd 4. Cuba - 48,340 bpd 5. South Korea - 48,180 bpd 6. Austria - 21,880 bpd 7. Singapore - 10,910 bpd 8. Ghana - 7081 bpd 9. Sweden - 4833 bpd 10. Portugal - 4721 bpd 11. Isreal - 3806 bpd 12. Switzerland - 3488 bpd 13. Georgia - 995 bpd 14. Ireland - 431 bpd 15. North Korea - 118 bpd 16. Uruguay - 997 bpd The total mathematical calculation of these figures amounted to 398,650 bpd with a balance of 1350 bpd that could still be shared among Kyrgyzstan [979 bpd], Tajikistan [221 bpd], Paraguay [31 bpd] and Sierra Leone [29 bpd] with little remnants still in transit. The fact that these countries do not produce oil in the quantity that Nigeria does per day [2.5 million bpd], most, if not all of them, have harnessed other potentials and resources nature has bestowed on them. As nations, they are doing well for themselves. Some of them have the best infrastructure, technology, military capability, good welfare programs, sound health and educational policies and very good GDPs compared with Nigeria, the giant of Africa, which cannot prevent the theft of a whooping 400,000 bpd of crude oil. Singapore used to be a third world country but has transformed dramatically to being a first world country with about the 3rd highest per capita [$51,162] in the world after Qatar [$99,731] and Luxembourg [$107,206]. Moving on to Isreal with just 3806 bpd possesses a military capability that is awesome and unimaginable. In the unlikely event of an outbreak of war between Isreal, a nation of 7 million people, and Nigeria with a population of 160 million, it will require the intervention of the hosts of Heaven for Nigeria to survive one week. Let us SHAMEFULLY assume that the government of EBELE JONATHAN cannot do anything to stop the 400,000 bpd that thieves cart away on a daily basis, but what good things has it done with the 2.5 million bpd that it produces officially and of what benefit has this been to the citizens of the country? It is an inexplicable paradox that a country that produces and sells about 2.5 million bpd is in communion with the poorest nations of the world. There is a collective understanding that a nation like Nigeria has no business with pauperism. But here we are, Nigeria is the undisputed leader of a thousand poor nations! All indices of poverty are in our favour. Our major and strategic highways are nothing but macadams that will make one think that we just finished fighting an invasion war. How do they do it in other countries where they have good roads and efficient transport systems that boasts of subways and ferries as against okada and keke Napep? As at the time this piece was written, a barrel of oil [brent] went for $107.45]. Multiply by 2.5 million barrels we have $268.62 million naira as daily revenue from crude oil. In a week we have $1.8 billion and in a year $97.77 billion as revenue from crude oil. Dont even attempt to convert these figures to naira! With the money we make daily, weekly, monthly and annually from crude oil, why must we be in this mess?
