Kovacic was touted to be a CAM but at Inter he has evolved into a very decent CM and with his pace on the ball ability to dribble whoever he comes across and pick out a pass (not always though) Kovacic is exactly the player Rodgers can turn into his ideal CM to partner either Can or Henderson.
