If Rudd & Abbott were in bands by Ian Date (thanks Andrew R!) I can’t help but imagine Rudd and Abbott in their respective bands. Kevin Rudd looks like he would be the keyboard player in the band who plays too loud and whose instrument sounds like bees in a jar. He is always trying to feature himself doing soppy ballad covers and plotting how to get rid of the singer. He plays dodgy changes and is always telling the band how to play. He works out his piano solos beforehand because he can’t improvise. Always tries to insist that the song be be played exactly like it is on the record. His wife wants to join the band. Tony Abbott has his own band where he can’t play any instrument, knows nothing about music, insists on being the singer. Writes crappy lyrics and no one can sack him because he owns the van and the PA. He does dodgy stuff with the bands money and is never clear about the gig info. Wants everyone to wear a uniform. You just wouldn’t hire these maniacs.
