If Smithville didnt even have a thermometer, I would declare this - TopicsExpress

If Smithville didnt even have a thermometer, I would declare this morning cold! Realizing there is nothing, I mean nothing, I can do about the weather, I just as well decide in my mind I am going to enjoy winter even though it doesnt officially start for another six to seven weeks. When we turn back the clocks tonight and tomorrow mornings temperature is below freezing, its winter to me! I will enjoy the long nights and the short days; the lights will be brighter than usual. I will love crawling into a flannel covered bed with an extra comforter on. The fireplace will add comfort and heat to the place I sit. I will spend more time working puzzles and doodling in front of the fireplace. Soup will hit the spot at several meal times. Hot sassafras tea will not only taste good but will have an appealing aroma. No doubt several times I will admit the snow looks pretty. Just the smell of the house and the smell of heat will welcome me when I come home of an evening. The anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas with family will be an added treat! Of course just standing and looking up into the sky on a cloudless night with the ground covered with a blanket of white, no wind, about 10 above zero and the stars shining as bright as possible will remind me that God is the perfect Designer. Kids on Smithvilles hill sledding and laughing and yelling is also a plus! Wow! Im already feeling better about winter. Oh, and I know there is no way possible to get to Spring without first going through winter. Now, Ive got to get geared up for the revival that starts tomorrow. Revival pretty much starts in the head also. I can change, I can change, I can change; with the help of God I can change! All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I;ll cling, in His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing; love so mighty and so true merits my souls best songs; faithful, loving service, too, to Him belongs. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me! Just as accepting Winter and all its glory is pretty much up to how I handle it, being revived in Spirit is pretty much up to me and how I handle my relationship with God! Come on winter; come on revival!
