If We Try To Teach Our Children, The Way We Had Learned Yesterday; We Would Rob Them Of Tomorrow. We are so much a product of our own education that sometimes in teaching our children we unwittingly make the same mistakes that were the cause of so much suffering for us. The school system arranges for kids to fail. We can all remember the big red “X’s” on all the wrong answers. Correct answers often received no mention at all. Tests were given with the intention of exposing our ignorance rather than discovering our knowledge. Here is a guide for your success: Teach him because you think it’s a great idea and a privilege for you. If this idea appeals to you then go ahead and plunge in. Take your phone off the hook and put a sign on your front door that reads “Silence – Professional Mother at Work – Do Not Disturb.” If you want to become a professional mother you will be joining the oldest and most venerable profession in the world. If you believe it’s a privilege to teach your child, you should avail yourself of that privilege. If you don’t like this idea – if there is anything about it that feels like a duty – don’t do it.
