If a person offends you, or some form of conflict with a individual takes place, what is the RIGHT course of action we as believers should take, some might suggests quickly removing that person from your life, to avoid further offense or conflict, also we quickly place the offender in a category that he/she is an enemy who would attempt to offend, or oppose us, a person walking in temporary darkness, or ignorance. But what instructions does the Word of God give us that is always a command, directive from the Holy Spirit written in Gods Word. Lets look into the perfect law of God for Gods mind, views on the matter, in the book of Matthew 5: 43 Your familiar with the old written law, or youve heard it said, Love your friend, and the unwritten companion, Hate or strongly dislike your enemy. Im challenging that statement said Jesus. Im telling you, Love your enemies and pray for them who persecute you Isnt an offense a form or type of audio offense or persecution? But Jesus says, Love them! Now he tells you why! That you may be sons of your Father in heaven. Was Jesus ever offended? Did he ever hear negative reports, offensive words spoken against Him? Of course He did. Notice verse 46 of Matthew 5- (If) You LOVE THOSE WHO LOVE YOU (only), what reward will you get? Are not the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet ONLY your brothers/sisters, ( Im adding who do not offend you or only agree with the way you believe), Jesus saids: What are you doing more than others? Dont the religious as well as the world do this? When will our love walk ascend beyond the World Saints? If our Righteousness does NOT exceed the Pharisees, or the world, what visual proof are we showing the World that we are Christ Disciples? Didnt Jesus suffer much more than we will ever have to suffer, wasnt some of his last words was, FATHER, forgive them, for they Do not know what they are doing, they malfunctioning, coming short of your glory, falling short! Didnt Saul offend many believers before He had a Damascus experience with meeting His Creator? The same man who was breathing out murderous threats against the Lords disciples (Acts 9:1), became after a name change the same man responsible for the majority of the New Testament you read everyday and the same converted man responsible to bringing many souls into the Kingdom, and developing such a love for the body that He often wrote letters in tears for His love towards the brethren. We are to bring the influence of the kingdom of God to the broken, shattered, weary, hurting, down, oppressed, suppressed, captives, depressed, wounded, low- self esteemed, those still in darkness, we are called to be that light, the salt, our love should flow with long suffering or willingness to suffer long, with patience, bearing fruit of love. If were not, then we are having a form of godliness, proving false the power within. SELAH Ambassador Paul Potter Apostle of Love & Unity
