If a time machine is invented, then it stands to reason that a lot of them will be invented. And if time travel is a local phenomenon - that is, only events within our own galaxy are affected by time travel which takes place on Earth - then it stands to reason that at some point, astronomers will be able to detect something hinky about the rate at which other galaxies are receding from ours. Things might look like they were accelerating, rather than decelerating. And if so, then what is the likelihood that what astronomers have recently discovered - that the universes expansion is accelerating - is not caused by a repulsive dark energy force, but instead is caused by constant travel through time by those wishing to change the past? If something should happen to this post, or to me, then you can be sure Im on to something.
