If all of the world´s cultural heritage... Stopmotion video by Altaïr Kabunda-Margalet ( MUST read description) For my IE Univeristy Application I choose to attempt at answering question 5-If all of the world´s cultural heritage (sports, music, fashion, architecture, literature, painting, etc.) were to be enclosed in a time capsule, what would you include? and decided to show my response in a stopmotion video. In my video, the canvas and frame is the timecapsule and each element is the cultural heritage element that i would incluede. It was a lengthly process and required much dedication and hard work, but I am very proud of the result, and hope IE university is too. I will proceed to explan what each element means to me and why i chose it (chronological order): The Vaccine: the vaccine has been a crucial medical advance which has saved millions of lives in hundreds of years, if anyone were to open this time capsule in the future, the vaccine to me would be something that id like for them to encounter, as it has been one of the most crucial and important inventions of our time. My mother being a doctor has really allowed me to appreciate the field of study that is medicine and shown me how it is a inevitable and key study affecting everyones life globally. Moon landing: Neill Armstrong landing on the moon for the first time on the Apollo 11 on the 20th of July in 1969 for me is the first major step towards human interaction with space and its surroundings. This event for me is so crucial as it then was a huge encouragement for further spacial and astronomic discoveries. It provided the first footsteps for humanity to comprehend the enourmous vast space that is our galaxy, and to be able to observe a phenomenon that we can see every night, the moon, not to mention allowed humanity to respect and admire the bravery of the Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Bible and Quran: I wanted to also include the Torah, Vedas and other holy books, Christianity and Islam are the largest religions in the world. Because of this, and because of the influence both religions hold, if anyone in the future were to open my time capsule, I would like them to be able to understand two great forces which moved and influenced our societies and individuals, and two religions which were the causes of many grand events and historic heritages worldwide, but also caused great destruction and chaos. The Creation Of Adam: This beautiful fresco painting is found in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican in Rome. As I cannot fit the whole Vatican City into a time capsule, I would attach an image (perhaps the real one, but its 280 cm × 570 cm make it a bit difficult) for future individuals to see. It represents an age of increidble artistic innovation which was the renaissance, which proposed a cultural rebirth and change of mentality of the middle ages, which stretched from the 14th century to the 17th. It was also an age where artisitic geniouses such as the painter of this, Michelangelo and others like Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael... Prehistoric Art: Following the lines of Art, prehistoric art is a concept that has always fascinated me. As we know very little about that Era, and the cave paintings are one of the few evidences we have, I found it highly relevant to include something from that time period. Not only are the paintings beautiful but the Cavemen and Cavewomen allowed us to be able to appreciate, with hindsight the different types of animals present and to admire their artistic skills and innovative nature. Coin (Money): Money as been a medium of exchange in society for now thousands of years. It is everywhere we go, despite the country, and to me, studying business is an extremely important element not only affecting society, but is also a factor that moves the world, it has led to innovation in every sector and is a hughe force which influences behavioral patterns in society and individuals, not to mention businesses. Hence, if anyone opened my time capsule, it seems almost ridiculous to not include a medium of exchange as important as money is. Inca Jewelry + Pyramids Of Gizaa : The society of the Inca empire was stretched throughout South America (Perú, Bolivia, Ecuador and S. Columbia) this empire were huge exponents of many grand artistic and architectual elements. The object i chose is Inca jewelry, where they mainly used gold and gemstones to decorate their jewelry. Ancient Egypt and the pyramids to be symbolise the skill and innovation present in their society, to me, two societies so culturally-rich and interesting seem pivotal to add to my time capsule. Beethoven 9th Symphony: Beethovens 9th sympthony is a musical masterpiece and a beautiful piece of music, for this, if anyone were to open my timecapsule, I would like them to be able to take the sheet music and play the symphony and be able to appreciate the majesticness of it. Alsom Beethoven was one of the greatest classical music composer this world has come to know, hence, he is the perfect example to place in my timecapsule.
