If anybody from Casper is interested, please message me your email address! Thank you! Festi Edwards (Festi Kafka Moon) Hi Everybody! As you are aware, March is National Disability Awareness month! I have been in touch with Marilyn Skogen (now retired!) and we were talking about balloon bouquets that go out to businesses to that we want to thank as well as their display that provides awareness to the general public. The school district is no longer spearheading balloon bouquets. I am sending this out as an interest or no interest survey to see what people would like to do. I like bouquets because people with disabilities can and have traditionally participated in their assembly and delivery, it is a cost effective way to thank people, especially businesses that employ people and businesses that are continuously donating to all of our many events and causes. It takes a couple of days and would require a location, as well as dollars or supplies donated to help make this happen. Let me know what you think! Also feel free to forward this email. I appreciate all of the help I can get! Note, it is likely that I may have secured a donation of helium. That is the most significant cost. It is also likely that we will redesign the list to make sure we are targeting businesses that are either high public traffic locations and/or have provided valuable support to persons with disabilities. I will call Marilyn back when we have a better idea of interest. Thank you! Festi Edwards Purposeful People, Inc. 258-1484 [email protected] Fax: 333-5241 1. What are you/your organization doing for March Disability Awareness Month? 2. Is there anything this group/community can do to help support your efforts? 3. Are you interested in Balloon Bouquets? (balloon bouquet is 1 silver ribbon balloon with 2 blue balloons with a base and with a note thanking the community for their support of persons with disabilities throughout the year) 4. Are you able to contribute any of the following: a. Staff or participant time to assemble bouquets? b. Money for balloons, bases, helium, printing? c. Location to put together bouquets (usually over a two day period)? d. Staff or participant time to deliver bouquets? e. Time to meet for a planning luncheon? 5. Do you think we should continue with March as the time, or change the time to October with National Disability Employment Awareness month? 6. If you are doing your own thing, are too busy/involved with legislative or other issues, or are simply not interested, could you please also let me know. It is also valuable information. Thanks for your time!!!
