If anybody has any doubts about how the left has taken politics out of the realm of elections and campaigns (where we, unfortunately, tend to leave it!) consider how Palin was taken down. Whatever you think of her, two people had a hand in destroying her. This was not a matter of mud-slinging campaign ads, This was not a matter of holding up a record or anything. No. Two people. That skilfully edited Katie-Couric interview masquerading as news, and of course, Tina Fey. Everything everybody thinks they know about Palin is straight from these 2 sources. The horrors of Climate Change? That one big fat LIE of a movie, as well as carpet-bombing of these lies via the schools. THE POOR POLAR BEAR!! If we are going to win, people, we can NOT pretend that elections are the be-all end-all of where these battles are fought. When the Left has every medium for influencing opinions: news, entertainment, schools, we have GOT TO FIGHT BACK in these same arenas. Elections are where these opinions crafted by these venues are played out, but the ideas, the worldviews, the what they know is formed only in part by ads, but to a much greater extent via these other means. Dont pretend its all elections. Its not. And theyre at it 24/7. If we want to win, we have to recognize these realities and act accordingly.
