If anyone is having issues with the audio on their transmit while using a old D104 here is something to check remove the head then remove the back of the head check the foam insulation covering the two wires going to the crystal it is very thin and tends to deteriorate quickly this is the only thing keeping the wires from shorting out on the metal back . I had one that wasnt shorted untill you talked on it then the vibration of your voice would cause it to short out your audio causing poping and crackling noise on your signal so i checked all of my collection 14 out of 15 were in need of repair. all that is needed is some black tape over the wires. 73
