If anyone thinks that having the Pope blessing something changes what happens, they had better read the book I am reading written by a brilliant Oxford history and anthropology professor. He does not demean current day religions but likens them to all of the myths, magic, witches, gods, voodoos and other ridiculous nonscientific crap that people have believed in since and before the first civilized people, so-called, of 7000 years ago. And of course, the current Bible and Koran beliefs are just another version of all the religious absurdities of the past. The professor, like me, wishes that children all over the world were taught science and common sense. The professor, like me, acknowledges that we, the human being, do NOT have the ability to understand things like the universe and beyond any more than a dog can understand algebra. Why do we not accept that fact without creating and believing in nursery rhymes and other myths such Jesus Christ, Mohammed, the Dali Llama and who knows how many other religious figures that have been created by the ignorant and conditioned unread in the world.
