If anyone were to ever mutter the words maternity leave is a vacation to me, I would punch them in both eyes. Last time I barely took 4 weeks and it was the biggest mistake. I am so thankful to be unemployed this time. And maybe instead of suggesting that everyone save an extra $1000 per week for a postpartum doula (UNREALISTIC), how about the father or other family members offering support to the post partum mother?? IT is a very hard time to adjust. It used to take a village, and now everyone is all, get a nanny, get a doula, etc etc. Sillyness.
