If bilingualism boosts the brain (haha... such lingo!), then, whew, in that department, I am ok. I spoke a dialect of Swahili better than English at age 4, even though I dont remember a word. Apparently doesnt matter. The scanned brain (not planning on trying the electrode route to test this oh dear!) would (hopefully) show a response to sounds from that language and that apparently is the same at a native bilingual speaker. Seems a cheaters way, but neuronal pathways are neuronal pathways and I wont complain. Ive always thought that my poetrys rhythms had Africa in them. And, who knows, maybe. But it *wasnt* in my first year of life; more like my third. So... maybe not! Oh, how we check ourselves against newsy benchmarks. Lol!
