If everything in this district is going great and the majority of the staff and community are happy, then: 1. I wouldn’t be running for Board 2. There wouldn’t be strong opposition to current members and administration 3. Staff retention would have improved 4. The override would have passed There is a lack of trust in administration. There are unethical relationships that hinder effective leadership and influence decisions. Teachers are not treated equally. Students are not treated equally. Parents are not treated equally. This district needs leadership that is not in the pocket of the Superintendent. Every staff member, student, and parent needs to feel valued and supported. One recent example of a decision made by administration, and approved by 3 board members, that furthered the distance in trust the community has in district spending is: The recent raises given to Administrators amidst cuts that significantly affected teachers, students and parents. PTO’s, Boosters and other clubs are working relentlessly to help get more money to the students and schools when the district could utilize money better and help them out. Attachment #1: Definition of Administration. I am sorry that other candidates have incorrectly conveyed this to you. Attachments #2-4: Administration raises? (Instructional Coaches, Gifted Coaches, Literacy Coaches…ARE NOT ADMINISTRATION!) When we just made cuts to staff, the sub budget and increased fees? Why? Especially when we have over $1.4 million to cut in the next 2 years!
