If it is that the manufacturing sector is been squeezed into - TopicsExpress

If it is that the manufacturing sector is been squeezed into oblivion the question now arises as to where the government of Jamaica is targeting for growth to drive the economy out of recession. Can the government produce a growth policy that doesnt take into consideration a vibrant manufacturing sector? Can jamaica continue to rely on tourism and banking to grow the economy? They have been trying to do that since the the jlp was voted out of office in the late 80s. How much growth has that produced for the past 20 odd years? Negligible growth during the 90s when the world was galloping along at 6% or more. Its quite obvious that we need a strong manufacturing sector to drive growth.
