If its the will of the people, then `Scotland has a right to - TopicsExpress

If its the will of the people, then `Scotland has a right to separation from Great Britain` but there are many parts of Scotland which feel distant from Hollyrood, and distinct from Scotland - or at the very least the SNPs version, and none of them have got the gov they voted for in Hollyrood, they too must have the right to their own referendums on self rule, or to stay within the UK. There are already contingency plans for the Borders and Northern Isles to call their own referendums in the event of a yes vote, it would fall under the UNs founding Charter which gives `all peoples the right of self determination`, it has no definition of `peoples because there is no true definition of what a people, ethnicity, or nation is, all are ambiguous, only nationalists believe they have cracked it, nationalism relies on a belief that we all share the same identity/ethnicity/culture, yet one look at Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland should dispel that myth. Currently we have self determination as the British people, if some wish to destroy that unity, where should we stop? Yugoslavia split into 9 separate states, and not in a nice way either, nationalists tore the country apart and each other, with it, there was civil war and ethnic cleansing which all sides were guilty of and in which all sides had nationalist leaders. While non of us know what happens next, one thing should be clear by now, nationalism did not make an exception for Scotland, it is the same vile philosophy based largely on hate and envy. Division or unity? Where to stop and where to start. Time for the nats to stop, otherwise this small group of islands we all live on could look increasingly fragmented, unstable, and divided. We were united for a reason, think about it!
