If morality were to be an issue in the selection and final conferment process, then there must be a handful of past winners worthy of being fished out of the list. Nora Aunorhas erred in the past. Who among us, even in the roster of the winners, has not? Her life is an open book. Most of the past National Artist winners have not been under public scrutiny all the time. Perhaps some, if not all of them, have skeletons in their closets.
