If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine And my tunes were - TopicsExpress

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung, Would you hear my voice come through the music? Would you hold it near as it were your own? One of my room mates at Clemson saw 130 Gratetful Dead shows. He was from Delaware and close to Philly. He along with his wife flew into Charlotte in 89, and met my wife and me for the last show I ever saw by the Dead. This friend Dave Barton helped to educate me to the outside world and culture. He invited us to Cape Hatteras and we fished there and played guitars and sang nightly. The house had no TV and we sang wonderful singalongs into the wee morning hours. I brought Cuban cigars I gathered while working in Charleston for Cubans and we shared blue crabs, oysters, clams and whatever fish we caught that day. I also caught 2 blue marlin along with Dave on my boat at Hatteras and witnessed the depths of the ocean and the eyes of the largest fish I had ever seen. Then we released them. I find that life bounces from the extremes of nature, from huge Marlin eyes to the frail flight of the flying fish in the wake of the boat. We hear the humanity of the Grateful Dead and measure it against the wrath of those like Ted Nugent. I will sing the songs of Jerry Garcia, and pray that no one hurts my son or his sister based upon their skin color or their looks. Just look for ripples in still waters. God bless and peace. Oh yea, watch your top knot. https://youtube/watch?v=JT8zLTaKxeE
