If nothing else Im amazed at how much we can actually go through - TopicsExpress

If nothing else Im amazed at how much we can actually go through and still almost have it together. On the outside anyway. Over the past 6 years I have had something like 20 operations. One of my surgeons calls me the queen of laparoscopies. 5 years ago while out walking my dogs we were attacked by two pitbulls. I was knocked over and broke both the bones in my wrist in half. After having a bone graft plates and screws in my wrist and a very lengthy rehabilitation I thought that chapter of my life was over. But oh no!! My wrist started becoming very painful so I went back to my surgeon. Turns out the tendons are rubbing on the edge of the plate and if I dont have it removed there could be permanent damage to the tendons. So Im scheduled to have the plate removed 27th of February. This was supposed to be my year without any surgeries. It means I need at least 4 weeks of work and then back to light duties. Im bummed about it because I am actually starting to enjoy my life and I love my job. I guess its just another thing I have to do and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. Seems like it never ends though!! -survivor
