If one more person says that I should just keep Jello and all - TopicsExpress

If one more person says that I should just keep Jello and all other horses and retire them on the backs of my other horses I will have a major shit-show meltdown. I am seriously offended by this complete and utter lack of understanding equine businesses, business plans, finances and viability. The hardest decision that any horse owner needs to learn to admit is when they are NOT the best home for an animal. This is a business. and we are trying to keep our heads above water in order to continue to provide the riding opportunities that we do to the public. There are many horses that we have had that didnt fit into the business plan. Keeping them honestly puts the homes of the other 26 horses at risk. We have other horses already down for the count that we are keeping as they heal and the other horses are paying their way already. However, horses that do not have the future to become a business horse not only do not pulling their own weight but do not getting the attention they deserves. She will get more attention and more love in another home where she is a top priority. Jello, for instance, is an amazing mare but one we bought just over a year ago solely for the business, not a personal horse I have had for years. This is not Pretty - my old blind mare I had for years that not only had no possible chance of finding another home, but was a life changing horse for me. Put your money where your mouth is.
