If one more person tells me that cherry juice will fix my Rheumatoid Arthritis or their newest magic pill/nutritional shake will get me off my medications, I will likely begin laughing and walk away from them. Clearly the disease is widely misunderstood. The fact that I have a smile on my face and grin and bear it through the pain, means just that. Ive learned to grin and bear it and fake my way through normalcy because when you dont look sick no one believes you. It doesnt mean I feel well because I NEVER feel well and am in constant high-level pain. I take weekly chemo pills, four treatments of IV chemo annually, and enough other pills to choke a horse just to be able to somewhat function and walk each day because every joint in my body is affected. Yes, I said every joint and the pain and inflammation will only get worse with time. My days of responding to those types of comments are over and, when I walk away laughing, youll now understand why.
