If one of your long time lovers decided the poly lifestyle was no longer working for him/her and wanted to discuss being monogamous with you, how would you handle that? Would you risk loosing that person to be true to your beliefs? I would have to seriously discuss this with them and get an understanding as to what brought on the change. I would never ask someone I loved to be untrue to themselves to be with me and I would hope they would never ask that of me. I understand that love can exist without an intimate relationship so the dynamics of our interaction might change depending on what the response to the questions above were.
