If one or both of your parents are still living, hold on tight. Embrace every moment, cherish every word they say, every smile they give you, every word of advice they share. Hug them when you first see them and before you leave. It is never too late nor are you or they ever too old to hold their precious hands. The gift of a parent is the first gift we are given when we are born. God knew what we needed to carry us through life. Your parents are teachers, leaders, mentors, protectors, providers, role models and believe me, they are your best friends in life. Once they are gone you cant get them back and they are not replaceable. How many times when growing up did we want to break away and leave to go our own ways? I wish now I had understood the gift I had been given then and stayed so much longer to learn more, share more and just cherish the moments. Dont waste a second of time if you have a parent living. Grab the moments and hang on tight. Those moments are the memories that we can always hold within our hearts.
