If one should become onesself again he should use himself as a reference frame. However in studying things around him he can become aware of values he had not considered: I am reading books on the nature of color. To test the theories in the book I shall paint the theories to see if they make sense. If so Ill use the colors in my.own way afterwards. The reference of the books is a referendum for knowledge that I ALONE have chosen. And thus the books values become mine filtered through my own experience.
