If people want a thoroughly diverse political landscape in Scotland, the only way to get that is independence. The vast majority of Scots will never forgive Westminster Tories, but may be more tolerant of Scottish Tories in an independent Scotland. They will never again trust Westminster labour, but a Scottish Labour party may still have some sway. Add to the mix the main party in scotland the SNP, a few greens and even the possibility of a surviving lib dem or two, and all of a sudden Scottish politics are truly representative of all the people.
