If somebody cannot grow and bloom in YOUR personal life garden, dont resent them for blooming in a garden of their own choosing. We all thrive in the right place, and that is a very personal decision. Learn to love your loved ones without putting conditions on them, based on YOUR desires and expectations. I dont have one child who would thrive in the lifestyle I have chosen for myself, but I remain forever proud of all of them for overcoming their own weeds, and planting themselves in the environments they are happiest in. Everyone travels their own road, and if you want to remain in their lives, you need to learn that your children are not clones of yourself. They find the people and the lives they are best suited for, IF you always let them know there is no way you would ever judge or reject them for it and your door is always open. I love my kids, scattered all over the country, doing what makes them happy. Do I miss them, terribly? Of course I do....but nothing brings tears of happiness to me more than having surprise visits and phone calls, hearing of their joys and successes.
