If someone doesnt believe in God the most compelling evidence they need is to introduce them to God not engage in an emotive debate. That doesnt mean you cant answer questions. I was asked by one man who says he doesnt believe in God about suffering, evil and natural disasters. I gave him an answer based upon the fall and how because God loves us He will not violate our free will. He said this: If he did (exist), hed be incredibly culpable and guilty for numerous unforgivable atrocities. I replied you dont believe in Him then we agree on one thing, all these horrendous atrocities didnt come from Him. Its remarkable how many people who say they dont believe in God seem to be angry with Him, but at least that can be the start of a dialogue, and thats how He wants us to come to Him, as we are with our brokenness, our questions, and at times even anger. He has the answers and most of all the unfailing love we need even when some things dont seem to make sense. He will always reveal Himself to those who are genuinely seeking Him.
