If someone starts talking shit about you, and you are a friend of mine, and often even when you arent, I am likely to block or unfriend the one making the personal attacks...not only because Im a loyal guy who sticks up for my friends when they are being character assassinated. Its not that, even though I do love my friends. When someone is being personally attacked some people jump into the bullying dogpile by further bashing instead of sticking up for the victim. Someone sticking up for the one being bullied might say well, I might disagree with X, but he seems like an okay guy. Thats the kind of friends I enjoy having in my life, people who will stick up for me when Im being bullied, even if they dont agree with me on everything. Ive seen that 100% of time, if I keep the people in my life who join in on the bullying/bashing, a day comes when Im the one they are talking shit about. So keeping bullies at arms length is more about protecting myself than my friends. If you make a friend and shes backstabbing her other friends, you WILL be the one shes doing it to someday.
