If taking a photo meant producing a replica of nature there would be no interpretation, no artist’s vision. But even then the vision is often not what one had envisioned, despite one’s attempts to realize it with light meters and f stops and so on, and all the developing room tricks and embellishments in the world don’t solve the problem but only make it worse.
