If the Council wants to send the anti-discrimination decision to a public vote, it must first be passed tonight and then referred to the county clerk. If the public were to initiate its own vote to overturn the ordinance, they would have until about the end of the month to submit over 4,000 signatures in order to get the item on the Nov. 4 general election. If they missed the deadline for the general election ballot, a special election would be called at a cost of about $25,000-$35,000. #FayettevilleADO
