If the Pontiff really wants to see change, he should look deeper than the symptom! ___________________ In recent months, the pope has argued for a radical new financial and economic system to avoid human inequality and ecological devastation. Id like to hear the Pontiffs views on the Doctrine of Discovery and treaties entered into and broken by colonial states. He surely must know that this is whats at the heart of all the inequity. Greed and exploitation in the current economic system has much to do with lack of honour and respect for indigenous views, value systems - and yes, the earlier role of the Vatican in allowing such atrocities to take place under their domination, abuse and rule over our grandparents as they were children in the residential school system.
